November 1st Meeting Notes

General information:

We are disabling the GroupMe due to lack of use
The grotto is purchasing gear for two full horizonal caving trips for members to borrow

Fun facts!

We enjoyed a fun facts session with Cat about prehistoric cave bears (Ursus spelaeus). Modern bears don’t typically den in caves, making the cave bears the last ursine cavers (that we know of). Did you know that cave bears were mostly vegetarian? Scientists think that one of the reasons they went extinct is because their particular diet couldn’t keep up with changing geological conditions.
